South Florida

The Morikami Museum in Delray Beach, FL (south of West Palm Beach) holds monthly demonstrations of Omotesenke chanoyu at its Seishin-An teahouse (pictured on this website's home page) every third Saturday from October to June.  Each month there are four demonstrations, at 12, 1, 2, and 3 PM, and each month's demonstration is different, reflecting the changing seasons, utilizing implements from the vast collection of the late sensei Atsuko Lefcourte.  Admission is $5 in addition to the museum fee.

In addition, lessons in Omotesenke tea are held on a regular basis, and special demonstrations can be arranged for groups in the area.  The lessons are primarily taught by Chieko Mihori, who studied Omotesenke under the late Atsuko Lefcourte and is a certified instructor in Omotesenke.  She has organized numerous demonstrations of tea ceremony throughout south Florida both through the Morikami and on her own.

The Morikami Museum is convenient to all of the Gold and Treasure coasts, within an hour's drive from anywhere between Fort Pierce and Miami.  For more information, call the Morikami at (561) 495-0233 or e-mail Omotesenke of Florida.
